A little bit about myself...

I am happy to say that this is my seventh year at Kecoughtan!  Go Warriors!  I am originally from northern Virginia.  I went to college at Radford University where I was President of the English Honor Society and earned my Bachelor of Science degree in English.  I also enjoyed Psychology and received a Minor in that.  Overall, I have been teaching for 15 years.  I truly enjoy teaching and helping students become active readers and better writers!

General Information about all of my classes...

Class sizes range from 25-30.  My students sit in six rows facing the front of the classroom.  I am asking that all students invest in a three ring binder with three sections and loose leaf paper.  One should be for Notes, one for Handouts and one for Returned Papers.   Students should also have a journal for everyday writing.  Please purchase highlighters as well.  Four colors would be idea.  Also, don't forget to bring pens to class. 
For grading:
    Homework/Classwork - 35%
    Quizzes/Drafts - 30%
    Tests/Projects/Essays - 30%
    Benchmarks - 5%
